A 'Guided
Adventure' through the Isle of Man, home to the infamous TT motorcycle race.
The Trip
Our annual weekend away has historically been to Scotland, but for 2010 we thought we’d introduce a destination known by everyone but visited by still relatively few, the Isle of Man.

GPS - SAT NAV
We don’t subscribe to the rather archaic system of “here’s some directions, see you at the hotel tonight”. To ensure you enjoy the ultimate in stress free touring all cars on this tour will be fitted with our premium GPS Satellite Navigation units.
Our detailed and pre driven routes are loaded onto the units, you just have to select which day you are on and let the system guide you while enjoying the open road at YOUR pace. Even the petrol stops are pre loaded!
RADIOS
All customers on this tour will enjoy the use of powerful licensed two way radios – these units are 8 times more powerful than the usual high street walkie-talkies and provide a method for the group to communicate with each other during the day.
TRAVEL PACK
Each car has a travel pack which includes – itinerary - summery route for each day – suggested lunch stop – petrol stops – hotel and local information including emergency numbers.
SUPPORT CAR
2 staff from Driving Adventures will be on this tour to provide support throughout the duration of the trip
The trip in more detail:
Isle of Man Weekend. A 'Guided Adventure'
Day 1 – Friday 6th August 2010 Liverpool to Douglas, Isle of Man
We’ll catch a late morning (11.30) Seacat crossing from Liverpool arriving into Douglas at 14:00. For those who prefer to sail at different times or from Heysham instead of Liverpool, this can be arranged.
Owing to this being a small island and using the same hotel for our two night stay, the pre programmed routes can be driven at any time – Friday afternoon / Saturday / Sunday morning. Therefore we’ll let the weather dictate when we set off as a group to drive the famous 38 mile circuit route plus the other routes we’ll include.
We will be staying in the nicest hotel on the island which is located just 4 miles from Douglas. It of course has appropriate parking facilities but also benefits from numerous eating areas and a lake view bar as well as an indoor pool, hydro and plunge pools, stream room, sauna, hot and cold spas, hair and beauty salon as well as a comprehensive gym.
The Sat Navs will also contain other routes to explore including the “Southern 100” based in the southern regions of the island near
Ballasalla.
The route pack will also have some other suggested sites to visit if you want to spend some time out of the car e.g. the miles of unspoilt beaches.
Day 3
Sunday 8th August 2010 Douglas to Liverpool, England
There a number of return ferries available including early morning, mid afternoon and mid evening.
We will be setting off on the 15:30 which will arrive into Liverpool around 18:00. We will firm up your preferred times closer to the tour date.
Needless to say, this afternoon crossing allows some more drive time for those who still require it but also some site seeing time or maybe as a window of opportunity to enjoy the hotels leisure facilities before heading home.
We hope this tour serves to bring some regular clients together after the
French Riviera tour in May 2010
or as a meet up before the Swiss Alps tour in September 2010.
It is also a perfect short
tour for those who haven’t joined us before and would like to sample what our tours are all about.
