A 'Guided
Adventure'
This tour takes in the wonderful
terrain of the Scottish Highlands.
Often overlooked in favour of
mainland Europe, Scotland not only
enjoys some of the finest array of
scenic destinations in Europe, but
importantly has an array of
fantastic driving roads.

PLEASE NOTE: There are only 10
places available on this tour owing
to the nature of the small,
privately owned and remotely located
traditional hotels we have chosen
for this weekend break.

The Trip
With the French Riviera and Norway tours already in place for 2008, we thought it would be nice to throw a summer weekend break into the mix.
|
 |
We are very fortunate with this business to travel to some of the most amazing places on the planet but still to this day, Scotland is one of our favourite
destinations.

The roads are some of the finest you’ll ever drive and with such awe inspiring scenery it’s no wonder car journalists flock here to ensure they capture some great photos of their latest test mule.

We’ve selected 3 wonderfully traditional, small and remotely located country hotels to compliment this tour.

Exclusive Guided Tour System

GPS - SAT NAV
We don’t subscribe to the rather archaic system of “here’s some directions, see you at the hotel tonight”.
To ensure you enjoy the ultimate in stress free touring all cars on this tour will be fitted with our premium GPS Satellite Navigation units.

Our detailed and pre driven routes are loaded onto the units, you just have to select which day you are on and let the system guide you while enjoying the open road at YOUR pace. Even the petrol stops are pre loaded!

RADIOS
All customers on this tour will enjoy the use of powerful licensed two way radios – these units are 8 times more powerful than the usual high street walkie-talkies and provide a method for the group to communicate with each other during the day.

TRAVEL PACK
Each car has a travel pack which includes – itinerary - summery route for each day – suggested lunch stop – petrol stops – hotel and local information including emergency numbers.

SUPPORT CAR
2 staff from Driving Adventures will be on this tour to provide support throughout the duration of the trip.

The trip in more detail:

Day 1
Sat 07/6/08 Stratford Upon Avon to Loch Fyne, Scotland (430 miles)
 |
Our morning start point will be a
country manor hotel near
Stratford Upon Avon. For those
of you who live north of this
point we’ll arrange to meet you
on route. |
For those who live south of our starting point and wish to stay in this hotel in Stratford Upon Avon on the Wednesday evening, we are holding some rooms should you wish to reserve one.
Please see the Booking Page for pricing information.
Our mission for the large part of this day is to get you to our wonderful Loch side hotel but that doesn’t mean there won’t be some fun along the way.
After a morning spell on the motorway, we’ll head off into the Lake district for lunch which means we’ll enjoy around 40 miles of some very enjoyable roads and interesting
scenery.
Later we’ll use the motorway again to cover some ground and pull us north of Glasgow – then it really gets interesting! Our late afternoon drive is a wonderful experience and a great way to introduce you to what’s ahead over the next two days. An 80 mile route slicing into the highlands we past the beautiful Loch Lomond before skirting the shores of Loch Fyne to guide us to our first Scottish hand picked hotel.
Built in 1837, this hotel is a wonderful example of Scottish baronial architecture high on the Kintyre peninsula and set in 60 acres of mature woodland and gardens. We’ve booked the evening on a B&B Basis.
Although there are restaurants a taxi ride from the hotel, we suspect you’ll choose to eat in the hotel.
Day 2
Sun 08/6/08 Loch Fyne to near Inverness, Scotland (235 miles)
| We can afford a slightly later start today allowing you all the time you need to take in the wonderful surroundings that our hotel boasts. |
 |
From beginning to end, today’s journey is a wonderful drive. Not only are the roads incredible but also the scenery is stunning and you may well find yourself voting part of the route amongst your favourites anywhere in
Europe.
We’ll ensure you don’t miss those infamous Scottish Lochs along the way, but be well assured, we will be taking you onto some roads you are highly likely to of never even considered travelling on if you’ve visited Scotland
previously.
After an adrenaline packed day, we’ve chosen a perfect spot to recharge your batteries. Yet again you’ll be enjoying Scotland’s hospitality at it bests in this beautiful Loch side hotel near Inverness, which we’ve booked on a B&B basis.

Again we’ll be very surprised if you choose to venture aware from this stunning spot but if you do, Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, is only a short drive away
Day 3
Mon 09/6/08 Inverness to near Stirling, Scotland (265 miles)
 |
The morning starts off with a
very scenic drive along the
infamous Loch Ness. Then we’ll
launch into a wonderful 40-mile
stretch of remotely located
roads to guide us to the
Cairngorm Ski resort. |
We’ll park up here and hop onto the funicular railway to take us to the mountain top restaurant This is a great place to take a break and capture the incredible scenery that adorns this spectacular area. For those who don’t wish to travel up the funicular, there is also a café at the base area.

Once again in drive mode, we’ll head back down the mountain and take on some challenging back roads before taking a more relaxed drive on a very nice A
road.

Later we’ll launch into some more very secluded landscape this time provided in and around the Trossachs National Park area. This exciting drive will conclude at our remotely located hotel for the evening.

Located not far from Stirling and secluded in 20 acres of gardens on the banks of the beautiful river Teith, this unique country house hotel steeped in history is a very nice choice for our last evening of the
tour.

Originally built in 1625 as an outpost of the Drummond estate Crief for the hunting of wild Boar in the Brig'O'Turk area, it became a hotel in 1939. Again, we’ve booked the accommodation on a B&B basis.
Day 4
Tue 10/6/08 Stirling to home (mileage dependant on finish point)
| Well this is the end of the tour and for the final day, you are entirely free to leave whenever you choose before noon to make your way home after a hearty Scottish breakfast. |
 |
We’re located 115 miles north of the English border so you can plan your leave time
accordingly.

If sharing all this wonderful driving, scenery and hotels with like minded people leaves you wanting more, there’s always the tour to Norway in September to look forward
to!

Until next time……
